Come As You Are

Last week, we reflected on salvation as God’s greatest gift, a gift rooted in love, grace, and sacrifice. This week, we turn our attention to an important truth: a gift must be received to be experienced. Salvation has already been purchased through Jesus Christ; our role is to except it and simply say yes.
Salvation is not earned by good behavior or religious routine. It is accepted by faith. God invites us to come as we are and not attempt to work out our way in salvation in Titus 3:5, reminding us that we are saved “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy.” Salvation is less about what we do and more about what Christ has already done for us.
The enemy often tries to make salvation feel complicated, heavy, or out of reach, but the Word of God makes it beautifully si
mple. In Romans 10:9–10, we are told that “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Believe. Confess. Receive. That is the pathway into a restored relationship with God.
Your “yes” to salvation may look different than someone else’s. It may come through a heartfelt prayer, a moment of surrender in worship, or a quiet decision made in your heart. Regardless of how it happens, salvation is an open door that God Himself promised to those who believe. The moment you say yes, heaven responds.
If you have already received salvation, this week is an opportunity to remember that moment to reflect on how far God has brought you and to thank Him for choosing you. If you have not yet said yes, let this be your reminder that the invitation is still open. God is not waiting for a more polished version of you or a perfect season to begin loving you. He wants you, right now, exactly as you are.
