Committed in the Waiting

Waiting is one of the most difficult parts of the faith journey. We often begin the year with plans, goals, and expectations for what we believe God will do. We pray. We prepare. We move forward in obedience. Yet sometimes what follows is not immediate progress, but waiting.
Waiting can feel uncomfortable because it challenges our sense of control. We live in a world that celebrates quick results and immediate answers. But in the kingdom of God, waiting is not wasted time. Waiting is often where God does His deepest work within us.
When we talk about being committed, we often think about action. We think about moving forward, building, accomplishing, and achieving. But commitment is also revealed in stillness. Commitment shows up when we remain faithful even when we do not see immediate results.
Scripture reminds us of the importance of waiting on the Lord.“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.”Isaiah 40:31 NLTTrust grows in the waiting. Strength develops in the waiting. Character forms in the waiting.
Prayer
Lord, help me trust You in the waiting. Give me patience when I want to rush ahead and faith when I cannot yet see the outcome. Strengthen my commitment to You, knowing that Your purpose will prevail in my life.
