Speak What He Said

By the time we’ve been through the fire, we’re not just survivors, we’re witnesses of God’s faithfulness. But what we speak after the fire matters just as much as how we endured it. Faith is not silent. It speaks. And in seasons of uncertainty, our words have the power to shape our perspective and strengthen our trust in God.

Scripture reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. When we align our words with God’s promises, we are reinforcing our faith and pushing back against fear and doubt. This doesn’t mean we deny reality, it means we declare God’s reality over our situation.

In the wilderness, the enemy will try to use our own words against us, tempting us to speak defeat, discouragement, or hopelessness. But faith speaks life. Faith says, “I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Faith repeats what God has said, not what the circumstances scream.

Think about it, Jesus Himself spoke to storms, to sickness, and even to death. He modeled the authority that comes from declaring truth in alignment with the Father’s will. We are called to do the same. Every promise in God’s Word is a weapon in our mouth, and every declaration rooted in Scripture has the power to shift the atmosphere.

So today, choose your words carefully. Speak what He said, not what you feel. Your faith will grow stronger as your words match His truth.

Scriptures:

  • “The tongue has the power of life and death.” – Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)

  • “We believe, and therefore we speak.” – 2 Corinthians 4:13 (NKJV)

What words have you been speaking over your life and do they reflect faith or fear?
